And we’re off…

2016 Longmeadow

This is getting so exciting! The first block for Longmeadow will be out on October 1st. I hope to have the center block available for purchase by next weekend. My friend Lola over at The Stitchin Studio is going to offer fabric kits for each block with Civil War reproduction fabrics available through her quilt shop. I don’t know about you, but I’m itchin’ to get started. I always feel a little lost between projects.

I’m starting a Dear Jane quilt this week at the Stitchin’ Studio, as well. Can’t wait for that, too! I bought the Dear Jane bundle of fat-eighths from Piecing the Past Quilts that are perfect for the look and feel of the original Dear Jane quilt and will use one of the Butter Churn Basics for the background. I’m hoping that it will be 100% hand pieced. Some of those pieces seem awfully small and I’m a bit clumsy with my hands, so here’s hoping!

I hope you’re having a lovely weekend and looking forward to a great week ahead.

Count me in…… or just call me a glutton for punishment, lol!!! This is so pretty, I can see it quilted so many ways especially for wedding or anniversary with names and dates in the four circle appliques. Thank you in advance!

Would love to make this gorgeous quilt. Tried to sign up to follow your blog and I keep getting an error message. Don’t want to loose track of you – thanks for the BOM!

I’m sorry about that, Marti. I tried signing you up for emails and it said yours is “pending.” Pending what? I don’t know. Hopefully, we’ll get this resolved.

I read a post over at Podunk Pretties that it was free after buying the center block. But I don’t see any mention of that here. Is it free after I buy the center block?

    1. cburdy says:

Yes. Only the center block is bought. The rest of the blocks will be free and released one at a time on the first of each month.

  13. Claudette says:

Yeh, I needed another project (NOT)!!! But this is too beautiful to pass up. Just bought the center block. How will I find the other blocks when they come out?

    1. cburdy says:

Thank you!! The blocks will be released one at a time on the first of each month. So block one will be uploaded on October 1st. Block 2 on November 1, etc. If you sign up to receive notifications by email, you will get an email each time they are uploaded.
